I agree with your Hermaneutical interpretation of this passage, but did you reference War by Josephus do build a picture of the Gerasenes? I thought the Jewish War was post resurrection, could you help a history geek out? :)
What do you think is happening in the story of the possessed man that is so different from others in the bible, wherein suddenly Jesus tells the man to spread the word? So many other times all we hear from Jesus is, don't tell anyone what has happened here--of course they never seem to be able to do that. Yet I have wondered about this contradiction in behavior for years now. I'm interested in the thoughts of you all. Seems you can't email Rob directly to get his viewpoint so Rob, I hope you see this and perhaps can answer it.
